THE BEST CROISSANT COMPETITION
2025 EDITION

Last year marked the second edition of the competition and what an amazing edition it was! Twenty finalists from across the UK competed at the Savoy for the prestigious title of Best Croissant UK 2024. Our 8 judges, led by MOF Cyrille Van Der Stuyft, had a tough decision to make and Chestnut Bakery emerged as the winner for the second consecutive year. Who will claim the title this year?

The stages of the competition
Registration
Registration takes place between 1st April 2025 and 1st May 2025.
All bakeries in the UK that sell croissants are eligible to register. The UK will be divided into three regions: North, Centre and South. Each participant must select the region that corresponds to the location of their business.
Registration is simple! Just click on "Register" on our website and complete the registration form. Please note that there will be a cap on the number of participants per region: 25 for the North, 25 for the Centre and 50 for the South.
Semi Finals
The UK will be divided into three regions: North, Centre and South, each hosting a semi-final in June:
Manchester (North) – 5 finalists selected
Birmingham (Centre) – 5 finalists selected
London (South) – 10 finalists selected
Each semi-final will welcome a limited number of participants (25 in Manchester and Birmingham, 50 in London) with a panel of expert judges tasting and evaluating your croissants.
All the details about the semi-finals—including date, location, rules and all other important information—will be shared with participants once registration closes.
Final in London
The final of the competition will take place on Friday 3rd October 2025 at The Savoy in London.
On the day of the final, the 20 finalists will bring their freshly baked croissants to The Savoy in London, where our expert judges will taste them to determine the winner of the competition.

To ensure a fair representation of the whole of the UK, we have divided the country into three regions with comparable populations: the North, the Centre and the South.
The South has the highest density of bakeries nationally. As a result, 10 finalists from the South will be selected by the judges during the semi-final in London. Five finalists from the North and five finalists from the Centre will be selected during the semi-finals in Manchester and Birmingham.
